Weekly Breakdown
WEEK 1: THE SEASON OF THE WITCH
Under the light of the Full Moon
We begin at the threshold: the ancient season of honoring the ancestors, opening the doors to the psyche, and remembering. As the nights become longer and lunar potency grows, this is a time to gather our trusted allies calling in protection, courage, and support. Halloween time is for honoring where we’ve come from - the key word is remembrance. Why do we have so many traditions this time of year associated with the dead? Why do we light candles, eat sweets, and disguise ourselves? We’ll dive into this history and also begin mapping the cycles we follow throughout the course: seasonal, lunar, and menstrual.
WEEK 2: PROTECTION MAGIC
In the Waning Quarter
As the moon begins to diminish, we call in our allies of protection. We’ll explore herbs that have traditionally been used to ward off malignant energy, alongside the protection allies we can use physically for immunity, lymph, blood, and the heart. We’ll be making an immune supportive electuary with ginger, astragalus, cinnamon, rose, and more!
WEEK 3: DEATH BECOMES HER
On the New Dark Moon
Without endings, there would be no beginnings.Through the myth of Persephone and her descent into the underworld, we’ll explore death not just as an ending, but as an essential part of the cycle of life. We’ll talk about blood, grief, creative power, and the power of shedding. We’ll also be making a ruby red pomegranate elixir that supports immunity, blood, and the heart. This week corresponds with winter, the quiet time in the cycle where the body asks us to slow down, and listen.
WEEK 4: WELCOMING THE DARKNESS & FERTILE GROUND
In the Waxing Quarter
The dark is not empty. Beneath the soil, there is a rich landscape of fertility + potential. For our final class of the course, we will be diving into herbs for dream exploration, visioning, and the magic of what lies beneath the surface. We’ll explore roots as medicine + also on the opposite end of the spectrum, flowers - the way they reach up towards the light. We’ll be making an As Above So Below Elixir for dreams and visioning.

Marisa Clementi
I refer to my work as a health practitioner as Magical Realism, as it is all at once practical and mysterious. My approach mixes the medicine practices of my Latvian and Italian heritage with the brilliance of Ayurveda, along with somatic explorations. I bring my artistry as a performer to this work through my deep knowledge of functional anatomy and somatic inquiry, as well as my inherited ancestral understanding of food and friendship as medicine.
